They really should change the title to "Storey's Comprehensive Guide to Raising Chickens." I read several books on raising chickens before I purchased a single chick and this one was the most comprehensive and covered everything you need to know to raise chickens for meat, eggs or to show.

Since I had no idea what to do, This book was the best! Murry McMurry Hatchery recommended this book. It was worth the money. I have learned so much. But what is funny is when I talk to friends who have raised chicks before and I would say "well what I read in the book" I get that weird look like I'm reading to much... My babies are doing great and I will continue reading this book...

If I could only have one chicken raising book,this might be it! It covers breeding, raising chicks, hatching eggs...even butchering! Very useful.

There are a lot of chicken books out there, I didn't really know what to get. But I just kind of got this one and hoped it was good, I really enjoy it, the author wrote all the possible options for flooring, bedding, roosting and everything else then she would list pros and cons of each possible choice. She also goes a lot into coops heating and cooling them, building them, making sure there is proper ventilation. I'm glad I got this book.
