3 out of 5 stars Alright...   February 20, 2010
S. Colburn (Vermont)
We had to buy this book for the VTNE review class.

It really is an ok book for studying I suppose. The quick summaries of each subject are good.

The problems arise from the questions asked after the chapters.

The questions are in them selves alright. Not the best as each chapter there is at least one question where the answer could really go two ways even from reading the chapter. Also the answers in the back of the book are wrong in many of the books. Of the 20 people in my class five of them had the wrong answers. I was one of thos "lucky" people. It makes doing the review questions difficult.

One of the answers was the best way to get a sterile urine sample was though manual compression. Oh, come on! Didnt these people even proof read the book and check the answers before printing? If I didnt need this book for a class I would have returned it instantly.

I was happy with my purchase. The seller was fantastic and I got my purchase quickly, which I love. The book I purchased was in excellent condition. I was very pleased.

3 out of 5 stars Disappointed with chapter quizzes   July 7, 2009
J. Gawron (Buffalo, NY USA)
I recently took the VTNE and while studying from this book, found many wrong answers. I have the third edition purchased new in Dec. 2008. The chapter information was helpful but there were also some glaring errors in there as well. I found the majority of incorrect answers were in the large animal chapter quizzes. I emailed the the company at the website given on the back of the book several weeks ago. I have recieved only an automatic response indicating they have recieved my email and will respond in 24-48 hrs. I'm not holding my breath on that one.

2 out of 5 stars ok but not great   June 27, 2009
Power Shopper (New York, NY)
My main problem with this book was that some of the answers to the review questions were incorrect. This made it much more difficult to study and know that I was studying the right information. Apparently this will be corrected in a future addition. I also wish that there were more review questions at the end of each chapter instead of just ten.
Besides that, the information in the chapters is easy to read, and well organized.

4 out of 5 stars Thorough Review   June 14, 2009
Kristen M. Costa (Maine)
This book provided a very thorough review outline, but may need to be supplimented with other texts if you're studying for a certification exam. A great place to start your studying!
