I bought the Kindle for my husband and he thoroughly enjoys it. He took it on a trip recently and was surprised how much easier it was than handling books. Kudos for a great product!

Great for Novels, not tech manuals November 21, 2009

Overall the kindle is a great device. I've accomplished more leisure reading in the past six months than the previous 10 years. What I would have changed - had I known the DX was releasing a month after my purchase, I would've purchased the DX instead. The kindle and kindle2 screen size are not suited for tech manuals, in fact most tech manuals I have considered buying are formatted for the DX if they are available as e-literature. Improvements I'd appreciate: a built-in a pop-up led light at the top, color, increase screen size, and compatible with public library formats. My Favorite features: no glare screen, qwerty keyboard, text on paper like display, download speed, sample reading, fast down loads.

When my wife was told she had cancer , I wanted something for her to help pass the time while undergoing treatments. I decided to purchase a KINDLE for her. It has and will continue to be a wonderful tool to help her relax, pass the time and provide endless hours of pleasure. Thank you AMAZON and KINDLE for being such a wonderful E-Reader.

As an avid reader of novels I'm really pleased with this device. The first one I had was defective. I returned it, but purchased another immediately because I like it so much. Instead of having piles of books with no place to keep them I now have this little Kindle on my near empty book shelf. It's great!
